Entrepreneur Jack Nadel Receives Inaugural “Entrepreneurial Lifetime Notable Achievement Award” from Nation’s Number One Community College
Santa Barbara City College’s Scheinfeld Center Enlightened Entrepreneurship Series hosted decorated World War II veteran entrepreneur and award-winning business author Jack Nadel, founder of Jack Nadel International, on Nov. 8, 2013 at the Fé Bland Forum.
As another installment in the Scheinfeld Center’s popular Enlightened Entrepreneurship Series, this program interactively explored with Jack his extraordinary story of being a lifelong serial entrepreneur, including insights from nearly seven decades of successful experience and his desire to share what he has learned.
Nadel also received the inaugural Entrepreneurial Lifetime Notable Achievement Award, also known as the “ELNA” award, celebrating his tenure as a global entrepreneur and passion for fostering entrepreneurship in others. Elna Scheinfeld and her late husband Jim Scheinfeld, for whom the Scheinfeld Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation is named after, inspired the award name.
The event was presented by Scheinfeld Center Director Melissa Moreno and moderated by SBCC Business Professor Bonnie Chavez. Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson presented Nadel with a special certificate and Elna Scheinfeld presented Jack with the first-ever award.
The audience had an opportunity to personally interact with Jack and network during a reception following the presentation, and student entrepreneurs exhibited their start-ups for guests to examine and participate with in the reception area. All attendees were gifted with a copy of Jack Nadel’s award-winning new book, The Evolution of an Entrepreneur, which was generously sponsored by Union Bank.
“The Enlightened Entrepreneurship Series gives students and our local small business community unprecedented access to highly successful and unique entrepreneurs and innovators and inculcates inspiration and motivation not only for budding entrepreneurs but also for existing business owners,” said Ms. Moreno. “Jack Nadel’s global experience, insights and ethical philosophy as a business leader are an excellent resource for all entrepreneurs, and his desire to pass it forward to help others create a model for success is extremely uplifting and valuable for those aspiring to succeed as he did.”
The Scheinfeld Center is a vibrant part of Santa Barbara City College, selected in 2013 as the nation’s number one community college by the Aspen Institute’s College Excellence Program from the nation’s more than 1,000 public community colleges.
